Longwood Gardens completed its major reconstruction and enhancement of the renowned Main Fountain Garden in 2015, engaging West 8 for landscape, Beyer Binder Belle for architecture, and Fluidity for water feature design and engineering. The French-influenced water design was initially conceived and built by the industrialist Pierre Dupont, in the 1930s. By the 2010s, the subsequently aged property needed a complete reconstruction. Fluidity conceptualized, designed, and engineered the water feature’s $50M reconstruction, including an exacting restoration of the historic fountain works and the interweaving of contemporary enhancements, employing conceptually freshened water, fire, and theatrical lighting displays.
