Four water features are incorporated into Santa Monica’s Tongva Park and Ken Genser Town Square. The first, a water garden incorporating jets and cascading reflection ponds, is centered before City Hall. Across the street, a linear rill, with carefully developed wheelchair-accessible edges, curves through the space, conceptually linking all the water features in the park. A large-format cascade with massive boulders and water plantings greets visitors at the park’s central east entrance. To the west, a stretched, sculptural cascade follows the silhouette of its hillside and ramp formation, incorporating rocky reflection pools and arching jets, harkening the actions of the nearby Pacific surf.
